On this platform, you'll watch your attendance get taken for you in real time. Hall passes are reduced to just a tap or a click. And with each tap, powerful analytics are generated for every aspect of student movement, from bathroom usage and duration, to missed class time, to attendance trends and beyond.
No more PowerSchool, eSchool, SchoolTool, or Infinite Campus for attendance; you're just going to use this one screen.

Getting Started
Go to staff.joinmoov.com and sign in with your school email using either Google or Microsoft.
Tip: Favorite this link and add it to your desktop so it's always one click away.
Once you're signed in, you'll land on your attendance screen, an organized, visual layout showing the photos of all your students. Your classes are already loaded, so there's nothing to set up.
How Attendance Works
This is where the magic happens. Each classroom has a MOOV reader device. When students walk in and tap their ID card, they instantly move from the left side (not tapped) to the right/green side (marked present), along with a timestamp.
Here's what MOOV handles automatically:
On-time arrivals are marked present with no action needed from you.
Tardy students are marked tardy automatically if they tap in after the bell. You never have to look at the clock or remember when someone came in. (Note the time-stamp with the **)
Tardy excused - MOOV is smart enough to know if a student has a pass. If they're coming back from an approved hall pass, they'll be marked tardy excused rather than just tardy.
Excused absences - students who are excused will show a red "Excused" banner on their photo, so you know in advance not to expect them.
The only thing we need from you: just hit the green Save button.
Click Save to verify what you see and finalize your attendance. Anyone who hasn't tapped and isn't excused will be set to unexcused absence.
Making Adjustments
Sometimes a student forgets their card, or a tap doesn't register. Just click on the student's photo and select Mark Present. Now, it's as if they had tapped in.
You can also change any student's status to present, tardy, or absent by clicking their photo.
Switching Classes/Class Information
All of your classes are already here. Use the blue dropdown at the top to switch between your courses throughout the day. We will sync with the bell schedule and automatically adjust your classes accordingly.
Alternatively, if your class is ever meeting in another room, during another period, or if you'd like to allow a grace period for lateness, click "Edit Class Details" next to the period you're in.
Hall Passes
On the same screen where you take attendance, you can also manage hall passes, and it's automated, too.
Bathroom Passes (Tap Out)
Much of the time, students are going to the bathroom. Instead of writing a paper pass or going to the computer for a digital one, students just tap out with their ID on the same reader they used to tap in.
When they tap out, a timer automatically starts over their picture, so you know exactly how long they've been out. MOOV defaults to a bathroom pass (to the closest bathroom) since that's the most common reason for leaving.
This timer creates real accountability. We've heard from teachers that students spend a lot less time out of class because they know there's a timer running.
Hall Passes to Other Locations
If a student is going somewhere other than the bathroom, just click on their photo, select Create Pass, choose the destination (like the nurse, main office, etc.), set the duration, and you're done.
The Halls Tab (Hall Monitor View)
When you're on hall duty, click the Halls tab to see everyone who currently has a pass. You'll see where each student started, where they're headed, and how long they've been out, all in one view.
PBIS (Positive Behavior Incentive System)
Here's the fun part: MOOV is gamified for students! They earn MOOV Coins for positive behavior:
Tapping into the building
Arriving at class on time or early
Students can redeem their coins in the Tap Store for rewards your school sets up - things like snacks, school merch, or whatever your building comes up with. It's a great way to incentivize showing up and being on time.
