Room Settings Explained
Room Nickname
You can assign a nickname to a room for easier identification. For example, if Ms. Shim is always in Room 101, you can rename it to "Ms. Shim’s Room." Passes can then be written to and from "Ms. Shim’s Room" instead of "Room 101."
Change Room Type
Click the room type to open a dropdown menu and select a new room type if needed.
Add to Group
Group rooms together for easier organization and reporting. You can also create groups to assign specific bathrooms to room groups.
Examples include:
100s Wing
200s Wing
Offices
Rooms can be added to or removed from groups at any time.
Room Admins
Assign an admin to a room to permanently associate them with that space. When a room admin writes a pass, it will automatically default to or from their assigned room.
Delete Room
Click "Delete" in the upper-left corner to permanently remove a room.
Warning: Deleting a room cannot be undone. Use caution.
Magic Readers
At the bottom of the room settings page, you can assign or remove Magic Readers:
Click "Add" to see available readers (listed by M number/ID on the back of the Magic Reader).
Assign or remove readers as needed.
MOOV Hack: Using Rooms for Events & Data Tracking
Did you know that rooms can also be used creatively to track attendance, engagement, or interest for school activities?
For example:
Create a room called “Event 1/1” for a school assembly or after-school event.
Have students tap into that room upon arrival.
Later, filter the "Taps Report" by that room to view attendance data.
Schools have used this approach for:
After-school events
Sports interest sign-ups
Assemblies or special programs
If there’s a situation where you want to gather student data through taps, or any situation where you're gathering student information or names via a form or pencil and paper, creating a custom room is always an option!
