1. Open the Teacher Attendance page
From the Dashboard, click View all on the Attendance Saves card. This opens Teacher Attendance Saves, which lists every teacher and the class they have each period. Use the Date picker at the top to choose the day you are covering.
The Teacher Attendance Saves page lists every teacher and their class each period.
2. Assign the sub
Click the absent teacher’s name to open Assign sub for [Teacher].
Courses to cover — every class that teacher has is checked by default. Uncheck any the sub is not covering, or use Deselect all and pick just the ones you need.
Coverage end date — set how long the sub is covering (just today, or through a longer absence).
Pick the courses to cover and set the coverage end date.
3. Choose the sub
Open the Choose a sub… dropdown and pick the substitute. Not in the list yet? Click + Add new teacher and enter their first name, last name, and email to add them on the spot. Then confirm — the sub now has access to those classes for the coverage window.
Pick an existing sub, or use + Add new teacher to add one.
4. The covered classes show up in the sub’s list
Once assigned, the covered classes appear right alongside the sub’s own. Select the sub under Viewing [teacher], open the class dropdown, and the courses they’re covering are listed there and ready to take attendance.
Covered courses (like AP Calculus AB here) appear in the sub’s own class list, ready for attendance.
